EXECUTIVE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Founder of Chamber Music Silicon Valley, winner of the 2024 "Power of Innovation" Prize, 2019 "On the Stage" SVLaureate, SVCreates' X-Factor Arts Prizewinner, and Professor of Flute at San Jose State University, as well as Professor of Performance Practice and Community Engagement at Santa Clara University, Mexican-Japanese American flutist Ráyo Furuta is equally renowned for his visionary curation and performance as a concertizing flutist. He also serves as the curator for the weekly Bay Area concert series, Music@Noon and is an alumnus of the Multicultural Artist Leadership Institute.

DAVID CORTEZ
DEPUTY DIRECTOR
David Cortez, a saxophonist from Corona, has performed as a soloist with various orchestras and ensembles and won the 2021 Collegiate Solo Division of the National Progressive Musician Competition. Cortez is an active member of the saxophone community, participating in events such as the International Saxophone Symposium and North American Saxophone Alliance conferences. He also plays soprano saxophone in the Zelos Quartet, which tours extensively and has won several awards. Recently, Cortez joined the MANA Quartet, further expanding his chamber music career.
GABRIELA VAZQUEZ
VISUAL ARTS DIRECTOR
Gabriela is a multi-disciplinary creative and dedicated community builder with a passion for embracing multicultural narratives. Whether it be through placemaking, events, or programming she aims to develop and implement innovative approaches to building connected, sustainable, and vibrant communities and public life by harnessing the power of cross-sector partnerships. She's previously managed large-scale public design installations and murals , formed grassroots collectives, organized multi-disciplinary events, and advocated for affordable housing and worker-owned cooperative policies on a city and state level.

Chamber Music Silicon Valley (CMSV) is on a mission to change the relationship that Silicon Valley communities have with Classical Music and establish social relevance for the art by innovatively creating a cross pollination of artistic mediums and multi-sensory, hybridized experiences. In this vibrant tech region, we seek to bring vitality and an entrepreneurial spirit to our local music scene. Our fresh and hip approach to performance respects traditions while promoting dynamic creativity and constant development. We strive to produce concerts and educational programs that are musically and financially accessible to broad audiences, culminating in our ultimate goal to become a catalyst for musical ingenuity.
